Investment Coalition

The Canadian agriculture and food industry is a cornerstone of the national economy and a critical contributor to global food security. Demand for sustainable, high‑quality food is rising – creating opportunities across production, processing, technology and infrastructure.

FCC has convened a coalition of more than 20 private, institutional investors who have pledged to deploy $5 billion to Canadian agriculture and food by 2030. Combined with FCC Capital’s $2-billion pledge, this raises the total potential investment to $7 billion by 2030.

Why this matters now

Canadian producers and processors are already among the most innovative and entrepreneurial in the world. At the same time, firms in venture capital, private equity and infrastructure are actively seeking opportunities to invest in the Canadian agriculture and food industry. The coalition aims to accelerate these connections by increasing capital in the industry and supporting growth, innovation and resilience across the value chain.

More capital in Canadian ag and food can support:

  • Earlier and broader access to productivity-improving solutions

  • Access to new markets and value-added growth

  • Stronger supply chains and domestic capacity

  • Long‑term competitiveness, resilience and sustainability across the system

Who this is for

  • Entrepreneurs with investable opportunities in Canadian ag and food who want to connect with the right investment partner.

  • Investors looking to deploy capital into Canadian ag and food opportunities.

Priority investment areas

The coalition spans investors with different mandates, but FCC will help surface opportunities that align with priority areas, including:

  • Ag tech and food tech that increases productivity

  • Innovative approaches to creating, capturing and retaining value across the ag and food value chain

  • New and creative financing tools that support core agriculture, business transitions and long-term sustainability

Submit an opportunity (entrepreneur pathway)

There is no single application process for the $5-billion coalition, and FCC does not make investment decisions for coalition members. If you have an investable opportunity, please contact the coalition’s investment partners directly to discuss suitability and next steps.

What to expect

Each coalition member retains full, independent control over how and where their capital is deployed. If there’s a fit, the investor will engage directly with you on diligence and terms.
