ESG

Environmental, Social and Governance

The world needs agriculture and food

FCC’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments are the backbone of everything we do. They guide us in supporting our customers, employees and industry in delivering safe, reliable, nutritious food.

Our ESG priorities fall under four pillars, which will help us enhance Canada’s role as a leader in sustainable food production.

Protect the environment

We’re focused on reducing our operational greenhouse gas emissions. We also work with our customers to help them mitigate and adapt to climate change. Together, FCC and customers can seize opportunities to transition to a low-carbon economy and protect nature and biodiversity.

Enhance financial and social inclusion

We help the industry and our customers thrive by addressing the needs of under-represented groups such as Indigenous Peoples, women entrepreneurs, young farmers and new entrants.

Build a resilient Canadian food industry

We support and showcase Canada as a global leader in food security through sustainable food production.

Our responsible business fundamentals

We act with integrity, maintain high ethical standards and protect data. We’re unlocking the full potential of our employees by creating an environment that is inclusive and equitable and by increasing engagement through our purpose and our value-driven culture.

Reporting and documents

Canada is one of the handful of nations capable of meeting the projected demand for agriculture production. Our commitments connect to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Zero Hunger and Responsible Consumption and Production, and we’re exploring support for Reduced Inequalities and Climate Action.
