Avery has been raising bison since 1999, and in the last eight years she has concentrated on improving her farm's ecosystem services. The results have been a more resilient farm, with happy, healthier animals, more wildlife and generally less stress on her and the animals.

I mainly run a cow, calf operation, with the recent addition of backgrounding and finishing my heifers, to give the ranch more flexibility with the land management.

<p.>The bison have been a true life’s passion for myself and my family, and we are learning that the more we care for the land, the better it is for the bison and ourselves.
