Frequently asked questions
Benchmarking is a process of comparing an operation’s financial results to other operations within the same industry using a standard or baseline called a benchmark. It is used to improve business processes, become cost-effective, and enhance productivity by defining, collecting, analyzing, and using internal and external financial data.
FCC Benchmarker measures profitability, efficiency and leverage on a per unit basis to more easily compare against others and help identify ways to improve your financial performance.
Percentiles are a way to demonstrate where a particular score falls in the range of other scores. For example, if a score falls in the 75th percentile, it means that it is ranked higher than 75 per cent of all other scores.
Report benchmarks are based on aggregated and anonymized data from our overall portfolio and do not and cannot be used to identify individuals. Only relevant and qualified information is added to ensure an accurate representative sample of the industry.
