Director, Indigenous Relations

Shaun is a member of Red Pheasant Cree Nation, a signatory of Treaty 6 located south of Battleford, Sk. As Director, Indigenous Relations, he is focused on enabling economic development with Indigenous communities by increasing participation and access to capital in primary production through the agri-food and agri-business value chains. Leveraging FCC’s national network of partners and industry stakeholders, Shaun is also building intersections for growth, understanding, learning, employment, partnerships, research and knowledge dissemination between government, industry, non-profits, academia and Indigenous stakeholders.

Shaun joined FCC in 2019 and is excited to work in the agriculture sector as Indigenous individuals, communities and economic development corporations begin to build and revitalize their agriculture projects. He has 25 years of experience in social and economic development having held senior positions with the Saskatchewan Indigenous Economic Development Network, Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority, Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, Saskatchewan Advocate for Child & Youth, University of Saskatchewan and Department of Justice.
