Every year, the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame honours individuals who have dedicated their lives to agriculture. The class of 2011 was inducted on November 6 at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
Dr. David Chalack
Dr. Chalack has been a champion for all sectors of agriculture and has worked hard to ensure our industry is led by talented and well-trained people working together. Through his 4-H, Holstein and Stampede connections, both professional and volunteer, David continues to motivate and inspire people to be the best they can be.
Laurent Souligny
Laurent's work has established the Canadian egg industry as a world leader in traceability, food safety and research. He also was instrumental in ensuring egg producers are compensated when disease strikes - a fact that will benefit generations to come. His legacy in Canadian agriculture is solidified and will grow well into the future.
Frank Stenger
Frank's work in dairy breed improvement combined with his marketing efforts helped open the international marketplace for Canadian livestock genetics. Even today, Frank is influencing others to turn to Canada for their genetics needs. Frank's life story is a classic example of what's possible in Canadian agriculture with hard work, persistence and smart decision-making.
