How can young people build a career in agriculture? With 35 per cent of Canadian producers expected to retire in the next 15 years, our industry has plenty of opportunity for the best and brightest young farmers. How can any of them get a leg up?

For many, joining a local 4-H club is the answer. They have fun. They make new friends. They participate in activities that not only teach them to be creative and confident, but also help them achieve their full potential.

Now, rural clubs can expand programs and membership thanks to FCC 4-H 4-Ever, our investment in the Canadian 4-H Council. This investment in the enthusiasm and commitment of a new generation of producers will encourage sustainability of 4-H and provide support for creating new initiatives at the club level and beyond.

This 2009 FCC funding program spans four years and commits $250,000 a year to 4-H.  FCC's previous four-year sponsorship began in 2006 and was used to increase the public presence of 4-H and position the organization for the future through an advertising campaign and recruitment drive for volunteers and members.
