Farm Credit Canada (FCC) proudly serves Canadian agriculture as the leading provider of agricultural financial and business services. Since 1959, FCC has been advancing the business of agriculture. Operating out of 100 offices located primarily in rural communities, the corporation’s 1,500 dedicated employees are passionate about the business of agriculture and committed to the success of customers and the industry.
Agriculture is a complex and dynamic industry, and FCC is focused on meeting its changing needs by providing products and services tailored to the industry. FCC offers flexible financing, insurance, software, learning programs, and other business services to producers, agribusiness owners and agri-food entrepreneurs.
FCC is committed to one thing – the success of the Canadian agriculture industry. We serve all of agriculture, all the time, all sectors, all across Canada. We’re easy to do business with and we are committed to helping our 100,000 customers pursue opportunities and work through challenges.
FCC is a financially self-sustaining federal Crown corporation reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. FCC’s purpose is to enhance rural Canada by providing specialized and personalized business and financial products and services to farming operations, including family farms, and to those businesses in rural Canada, including small and medium-sized businesses, that are businesses related to farming.
FCC supports the government’s vision of a profitable agriculture industry that seizes opportunities, responds to market demands and contributes to the health and well-being of Canadians.
There is promise and there are challenges for agriculture and agri-food. The industry has the opportunity to redefine itself in the new economy, with the incorporation of knowledge, innovation and environmental sustainability. Many producers and agribusiness operations are rapidly enlarging the industry’s contribution well beyond its focus on food to include technology, health, energy and the environment. FCC plans to support Canadian agriculture in taking advantage of these opportunities.
This corporate plan outlines FCC’s corporate objectives and strategies for advancing the business of agriculture.
